Some History…

I believe that the story of the ‘why’ we are motivated to do certain things lies in passion.  This 2014 trip to Chiapas, Mexico will be the third year in a row that I carry suitcases full of items for donation.

Three years ago in 2011, I traveled with my daughers (aged 16 and 13) to Bucaramanga, Colombia to visit our exchange student.  My elder daughter, motivated to make a difference on behalf of the Spanish Honors Society at school, collected two enormous suitcases full of school supplies.  Accompanied by our host family, we visited an impoverished school in Floridablanca, Colombia and were able to feel the difference we could make.  We’d all agree that it was the most moving part of our trip to Colombia.  This photo shows my daughter introducing herself to the students.
